Mobile app auto refresh enhancement

When using the mobile app, the auto-refresh occurs far too frequently—about every three seconds, since I receive a high volume of emails. Each refresh clears the screen and displays “loading conversations,” which makes the app essentially unusable because it is constantly resetting.
I would like the option to disable auto-refresh so that conversations only refresh when I manually pull down from the top of the screen.
